I’m really not a child-friendly elf. Seriously, kids and I don’t get along very well. It probably has something to do with the fact that I’m closer to their size than most adults. For some reason this makes them feel like they can take liberties with me. You know, like tugging on the points of my ears or pulling down my socks. Harmless stuff, but I never could get used to it. The worst was when Santa would do a stint at a local mall, filling in for the fake Santas – just as a switch up from the workshop. Those kids in the malls are monsters! Seriously!
But kids are what make the North Pole go round you know, so of course we have to take care of them. It’s what we do for pity’s sakes. No, if I’ve got to deal with kids let me have the babies. They may be messy and noisy, but until they are mobile they can’t be too much of an annoyance, unless of course they decide to spit up on you, or their diapers leak.
The weird thing is, it’s become quite the popular thing to give small children (I’m talking babies here) educational toys. Can you imagine? Educational toys for an infant! As if they’d really know the difference between an educational toy and the cardboard box that it comes in. In fact they usually prefer the boxes, no joke! That is why when the workshop started cranking out the Poppin’ Park Elefun Busy Ball Popper.

Yeah, I know, it’s a mouthful, but this toy is the real deal when it comes to fun toys for babies. Forget educational toys, this one is interactive. It’s a fact that interactive toys helps kids to improve their hand-eye coordination, helps to improve dexterity and even color and shape recognition (please tell me that doesn’t fall under educational!). Come to think of it I’m not entirely sure that it’s a good thing to improve their hand-eye coordination and dexterity. They’ll stop being babies soon enough and get to work pulling down my socks.
Anyway, back to the Poppin’ Park Elefun Busy Ball Popper. It’s an elephant. And not just any elephant, it’s a blue elephant. Well, sort of a blue elephant. It has a blue body , purple ears, one yellow arm, one green arm, and a yellow basket stomach (can you tell it’s supposed to help with color recognition?). The whole point of the Poppin’Park Elfun Busy Ball Popper is to use the color coordinated balls and insert them into the elephant’s trunk. They “pop” up the trunk and fall into either an ear, an arm or a stomach. It’s bright, it’s noisy, and the little ones love it.
As if the bright colors and the “popping” balls were not enough, this popper also plays music; ten tunes that are supposed to be “bright” and “engaging” but which I guarantee will drive any parent nuts within a week, though their psychosis over ‘twinkle twinkle little star” will be tempered by the fun their child is having.
In fact, the Poppin’Park Elfun Busy Ball Popper is an overall great toy – as toys go, and you won’t be sorry, well, not very sorry.
