The 21st Century Elf Does a Wheelie

I’ll tell you right now, we might as well give up and go to work for Ford or some other large motor company, because with the high demand for the drivable cars on every kid’s Christmas list, we’ve had to devote an entire branch of the workshop just to cranking these puppies out.

One seaters, two seaters, sedans and racers, we’ve got drivable pedal and battery powered cars in nearly every color, shape and size. But I’ll tell you one thing right now, the first person who suggests that we put one of these in a stocking, I’ll pin their ears to my bulletin board.

One of the most popular, however, is the Power Wheels Dune Racer. With awesome traction and a jazzed up design, the Power Wheels Dune Racer is a real trip. I should know, I’ve had my toes run over ten times by the testing team. I had to bust the driver all the way down to entry level Elf for that. It didn’t help that it’s a solid piece of work.

The Power Wheels Dune Racer is well made, I’ll give you that. With its wide wheels and sturdy frame it can take all the abuse that a kid can throw at it, and it’s even got chrome detail work to give it a little extra punch. You’ll definitely get your kids back in one piece if you opt for this model. In fact you might be tempted to get one for yourself (though I wouldn’t trust it in highway traffic).
There is one thing I’m wondering though – why on earth did they decide to put seat belts in? Yes, I know, it’s supposed to be to encourage kids to wear their seat belts in a real car, but honestly, if the Dune Racer does tip over (which it shouldn’t) there’s not much standing between the kid and the ground anyway. So let’s just chalk it up to an educational opportunity that someone in the Elf marketing department just couldn’t let pass them by.

Of course the design team had to get in on the action, so not only does this thing look like it goes fast, it will crank out a speed between 2.5 and 5 mph, not bad for a 12-volt battery, and we even throw in a charger so that you can plug it in while you’re kids take a nap (or while you make them let you take a nap).

I’ll tell you, it’s got some decent space too. Our floor manager has appropriated one to zip around in so she can keep an eye on production. She painted her Dune Racer a candy apple red and that baby can move! She’s gotten a lot of dates since she started driving that thing too, which should have been a dead giveaway that the Power Wheels Dune Racer is going to be a contender for this year’s ‘most wanted toys’ list.
