Last Tuesday night, my children and I had a brief conference after meal for our annual family Christmas party. Yes, just in case it’s your first-time here, even if there are only four of us, we consistently have our Celebration every season.

This conventional family Celebration is held every Christmas Eve, and mind you, this is not just a simple gathering over the dinning table where we discuss a sumptuous Noche Buena to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. It is a full growned party, finish with programs and all – games, welcome reviews, exchange presents, intermissions… the works. Yup! It’s a complete pacakge.

This custom was began by my mother when she was still with us here in the world and recurring what she began is just one way for us to consider her. She used to be the host of the party, now I take on the hosting tasks. The children are all doing the games and each one is assigned to deliver at least one performance for the intermission of the party.

Mushy? Maybe, but it’s how we enjoy our Christmas… and how we celebrate the coming of our savior Jesus Christ.

And as my usual message to my kids during the welcome reviews, I earnestly hope that they continue the tradition even when I have gone to join Mama… even when they already have their own family… and gather together every Christmas Eve to enjoy our traditional Christmas Party.
